kanji means "peace" or "harmony". Papa made these cards on the computer.
akemashite omedetou gozaimasu is the greeting for the new year in Japanese. (The
u makes the "o" long.)

ReplyDeletei love your blog. i am an anthropologist and also japanese american. i visited japan once a few years ago and your blog helps me understand so much about every day japan. and i felt a kinship when i saw your picture of different type of tree supports--i have similar pictures! keep up the good and interesting work.
