Sweet Potato KitKat
This has been available in our neighborhood for a while. Though it is plum blossom season, that is a cherry blossom on the package. Cherry blossoms usually bloom around the time an old school year ends and a new school year starts. There are other snack foods available now that congratulate students.
That is a school uniform hat. Not all Japanese students wear uniforms. Big Sister wore one in kindergarten and junior high. She doesn't wear one to her high school. Click on the labels below for more info. and more pictures of KitKats.

Grape KitKat
Another KitKat! This one tastes like Muscat of Alexandria. That's a fancy sounding grape. It tasted like plain old grape to us.
KitKat is sold in small cardboard boxes. Inside the box, there are two small packages. Little Brother tore into his package from the opposite end. Packages here sometimes tell you where to open them. (Click on the picture to enlarge it.)
It's best to follow instructions, but this package easily ripped along the opposite edge so he was able to get the candy out without trouble. By the way, the candy coating was a light green. We ate it up before I could get a picture of it.

Watermelon KitKat
KitKat had another seasonal flavor. This summer, it was watermelon, suika.
The chocolate is brown and not pink like the sakura KitKat. Click on the label below to see other flavors. There was a berry flavored KitKat at he beginning of summer but I forgot to post it.

There is a picture of cherries on this KitKat package, but they don't tast like cherries. They are sakura flavored.
Note the shape of the sakura blossom.
