Near the Train Tracks
This is another lost post. Dated 2-20-07. I'm sure it still looks like this, though. That's an apartment building hugging the tracks. A little too close for my comfort! Don't you know that it's noisy!
A train crossing in my neighborhood. An apartment building on one side. Fields on the other.

Extra Closet Space

Bedrooms in apartments usually have a closet for futon. They are big and spacious. There usually aren't clothes closets, especially in older apartments. People buy wardrobes that sit in the room. They are wooden or cloth cabinets. Some are just open racks. Others have cloth drapes around them.
These choices are from the catalog Big Sister, the high school graduate, received recently. These things are available throughout the year.
Here is the company's link. It takes awhile to link up:

On the Streets Where I Live
These are clam shells. They are lined up in a flower bed. Maybe it's feng shui. This flower bed faces a busy street. Maybe the shells were put there to prevent slugs or bugs from entering and eating their plants. I'm not sure why.
This is a balcony of an apartment building. Those are washing machines. Some people don't have room in their apartment or house for a washing machine. They don't have garages so if they are lucky, they put them on balconies. This balcony was built with spaces to put washing machines. The machines are right in front of the front doors.
This second floor apartment has a big garden on its veranda. At first, I thought the third floor apartment had a washing machine on its balcony. It was a big water tank.

Along Tama River
On our way to the doujou, we passed along the Tama River. There were several bridges like this along the way.
Here is a bridge for the train line. Click to enlarge and you will see a game of baseball. There was one game after another along the river. There were adult and kids' teams.
I took this picture of these apartment buildings in the morning. In reality, they aren't leaning like the Tower of Pisa. We were turning the corner as I took the picture.
This was taken in the afternoon on our way home. Those are the same apartment buildings. I took the picture through Big Sister's window so I got some of the sun shield in the top of the picture.
People play sports and have picnics down on the fields by the river. They boat, jet ski, fish and wind sail on the river. They jog and cycle up on the paved path on the embankments. There was also a field of cosmos flowers. I saw some people walking on a path through the flowers.
We think these are power stations. Click on the picture to see the birds on the wires in the background. Too bad I didn't have the zoom lens on the camera.
